Think small to act in a big way: help create the world’s largest elephant migration corridor

In the world of elephants, bigger is definitely better, even if it means just looking big.  Male African elephants continue to grow throughout their 70 years, and can reach 7? tons (more than two Hummers). Why am I telling you this you ask? Well, despite their size they need some help from us humans, as space for elephants needs to be ‘channelled’ in Africa. There are billions of people on the earth, yet there are finite numbers of our beautiful creatures in the world left. The amount of land set aside for animals in Africa is dwindling and in some cases it has disappeared all together. What is Africa without its animals? In our work to help businesses act as a 'force for good' in the communities in which they operate, Virgin Unite is already working with Peace Parks to help conserve wildlife across country borders. We have kick started some of their work with an initial grant donation, but more help is needed for their most ambitious project yet. Peace Parks wants to create the world's largest elephant corridor. I, together with Nelson Mandela, would like your help to establish the corridor.

There is a target of some 430,000 euros to raise to help with this project – with 100% of donations going to the cause. Creating the largest ever Elephant Corridor in South Africa will enable the elephants in Botswana to roam freely across the border to Zambia. The corridor offers a solution for the heavy desertification in Southern Africa and the increased danger for the local communities. This project is the first key step in the realisation of world’s biggest wildlife park covering an area of 300,000 km2.

Together we can create a corridor between Botswana and Zambia. I think we can succeed, if we put our minds to it.
